Remote work
Zalando practices a hybrid working model with 60% (or more) remote per week, actual practice is up to each team to best support their collaboration. You can also take 30 days per year to work from abroad remotely.

Zalando uses a mixture of English and German, and the frequency of usage depends on the team.
German language requirements
Zalando doesn't require German language skills from data scientists and data engineers to do their day to day work. It's a big international company, but there are many German employees, so knowledge of German language improves your life at the company.
International employees
Zalando has a large number of employees from all over the world, who came to work at Zalando in Germany.
Visa sponsorship
Zalando sponsors visas for skilled data science professionals. There are two main conditions (a) you meet blue card requirements of the German government and (b) the hiring team has confirmed the terms of the visa sponsorship with you.
Relocation support
Zalando offers financial support and other services to new team members, who are hired from outside of Germany and are moving to Germany for work. It is however subject to the discussion with each hiring team.
